I've played the trumpet for more than forty-five years, and even though I'm not a great player, I've played in groups with some tremendous musicians. For 20 years, I played in the orchestra at First Baptist Atlanta, and played at the Atlanta Passion Play. I played in the orchestra at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta for two years, and in the orchestra at First Redeemer in Cumming, GA for two years. In 2004, we moved to northeast Georgia and joined First Baptist Church of Hartwell. There was no orchestra, so I played along with hymns and tried to encourage others to join in. In the summer of 2009, we moved our church membership without the consideration of instrumental music. I had been praying about finding a church that taught the doctrines of grace (reformed theology) with expository preaching. We found such a church at Liberty Baptist.
